Kari Volk is a strength and conditioning coach at Sanford Sports. She started in 2022, though she interned with Sanford Sports in 2016 and 2017 while she attended Midland University.

Volk attended graduate school at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, earning a master’s degree in health and kinesiology with an emphasis in strength and conditioning. While there, she served as a strength and conditioning coach while coaching hockey. She then coached volleyball, baseball and basketball at Westside High School. In 2022, Volk returned to Fargo and took on her role with Sanford Sports.

Her coaching philosophy involves building relationships and trust with her athletes, focusing on how they can improve while having fun. Volk enjoys watching athletes fall in love with the process and how it translates to their sport. She believes the lessons they learn in the weight room and their sports will remain with them throughout their lives.

Volk enjoys working at Sanford Sports because of the opportunity to work with a wide variety of athletes of all ages, sports and programming. She loves keeping the environment light and fun while providing a challenging workout so athletes can feel energized and accomplished. Volk enjoys working with all the teams and programs at Sanford Sports, especially the Sanford Volleyball Academy teams.

Volk appreciates the opportunity to work in the program where she developed a love for strength and conditioning.

She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Volk is a Youth Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine and specializes in Female Chain Reaction through the Gray Institute.
