Mental Performance Coach

Chris Gudjenov is a sports mental performance coach in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He started in 2026.

Gudjenov earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Utah Valley University. He also earned a master’s degree in athletic counseling from Springfield College and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University.

Prior to Sanford Sports, Gudjenov spent eight years as a senior mental performance and resilience trainer for the U.S. Army. He also worked as a mental performance coach to various NFL, NHL and NCAA DI athletes.

Gudjenov believes mental performance is about self-awareness and growth. He works with clients to identify winning behaviors and execute consistent habits on and off the field.

He enjoys working at Sanford Sports Performance because his coworkers create an environment that motivates everyone to get better every day.

Gudjenov is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and Approved Mentor through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
