Jason Dorman

Lead Sports Science Specialist

Jason Dorman is the lead sports science specialist for Sanford Sports in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He started at Sanford Sports in 2008.

Dorman earned his master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology and biomechanics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Dorman’s previous experience includes working as a sport science intern at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York, and in the exercise physiology department at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, Australia. Dorman has tested and advised myriad high school, collegiate and professional athletes in numerous sports, including gold medal and world record-breaking Olympic athletes.

Dorman is a firm believer in tracking the progress of athletes through tests while they are participating in strength and conditioning programs and during their competitive playing season.

He thoroughly enjoys coming to work every day in an environment that allows him to collaborate with like-minded staff and athletes who want to perform at their best and stay healthy. Sanford Sports has given him the necessary resources to achieve his career aspirations.

Dorman is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is the primary or co-author of over 20 published research articles and over 60 research abstracts related to athletic health and performance.
