Lead Biomechanical Engineer

Zach Granatowicz is a lead biomechanical engineer at Sanford Sports. He started in 2023.

Granatowicz earned his bachelor’s degree in biological systems engineering with an emphasis in biomedical engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned his master’s degree in biomechanics from the University of Nebraska Omaha and worked there as a graduate assistant researching 3D-printed prosthetics for children. While there, he gained experience in a variety of biomechanical equipment, including motion capture, force plates, electromyography and inertial measurement units.

Granatowicz explains to athletes how his biomechanical testing can benefit them and what can be measured. He then consults a strength coach or personal trainer and offers changes to their program to manage any deficiencies and maximize performance. He continues testing athletes throughout their time at Sanford Sports to gauge their improvement.

Granatowicz enjoys working at Sanford Sports because all the resources to help athletes improve are under one roof. He values the amazing strength coaches, an experienced sports science team and incredible facilities and equipment. He also appreciates that everyone has the shared goal of helping athletes be their best.
