
Toby Bryant
Lead Sports Academy Specialist – SoftballToby Bryant joined Sanford Sports Academy in June of 2025.
Bryant earned two master’s degrees in education from Northern State University and a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education and recreation from South Dakota State University. He is also a certified master athletic administrator (CMAA) through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
Bryant was an NCAA scholarship athlete from 1997 to 2000 and a two-time Division II Academic All-American. After a successful playing career across multiple South Dakota baseball teams, he turned his attention to coaching baseball and softball. Since 2017, Bryant has led numerous youth, junior varsity and high school teams to championships or championship game appearances.
Bryant’s coaching style focuses on hard work, discipline, positive attitudes and fun. He believes strongly in committing to being a good person, giving 100% effort and winning. Bryant recognizes that defeat can sometimes be a certainty in sport – and in life – and an individual’s true character comes to the surface in defeat. He coaches players to win and lose with grace, honor and dignity, and encourages the same behavior in coaches, parents and the community.
