Keaton Kvilvang is a basketball coach at Sanford Sports Academy. He started full-time in 2025.

Kvilvang has played basketball since he was in third grade and played at the collegiate level for four years at Valley City State University. He graduated in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, after which he joined North Star High School as the assistant coach for their junior high girls basketball team.

In his role at Sanford Sports Academy, Kvilvang oversees individual and small group workouts, as well as coaching Sanford Sports Academy teams. 

Kvilvang’s coaching style is motivational and upbeat, aspiring to bring energy to workouts, camps, practices and games. He wants players to emulate that energy and bring out the best in their abilities. He strives to create a trusted and comfortable environment for athletes to increase their basketball knowledge, have fun, ask questions and create memories. Kvilvang loves to preach two important factors in life – attitude and effort. He believes athletes can accomplish a lot on and off the court with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Kvilvang enjoys working at Sanford Sports Academy because the staff is always friendly and welcoming, allowing opportunities to ask questions and learn something new every day. He also appreciates that athletes arrive at workouts and lessons with great attitudes and attention to detail.
