Eric Knutson is the head strength and conditioning coach at Bismarck State College. He started at Sanford Sports in 2025.

Knutson earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with concentrations in sports medicine, coaching and health and wellness. He is also a licensed educator in North Dakota.

A former college athlete, Knutson has previously served as a high school head football coach and athletic director.

His coaching style is driven by a passion and commitment to improving those around him daily. He focuses on building strong relationships, intentional training programs and fostering growth. He always pushes athletes to be their best while ensuring they feel supported and valued as an individual.

Knutson enjoys the culture and camaraderie amongst the Sanford Sports Performance crew. He appreciates the support and knowledge of each coach in their respective fields, knowing he can ask anyone a question and receive solid feedback.

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
