Come, Play the Pointe!

Huether Family Match Pointe

Huether Family Match Pointe, originally called the Community Indoor Tennis Center (CITC), is a new, public indoor tennis center available to the entire community. Match Pointe will provide year-round, high-quality tennis opportunities on each of our six state-of-the-art, championship indoor tennis courts. Tennis will be accessible for virtually every demographic group within our community, including programs for under-privileged children, area school kids, local colleges, adults and senior citizens.

Huether Family Match Pointe (HFMP) will offer daily drills, leagues, lessons and/or USTA leagues to adults and juniors for players ages 4 years old to 104!  Match Pointe will be the premier tennis center in the area, offering professional private and group instruction for both adults and junior players, league play, social mixers, special events, as well as high school, college, local, regional and national adult and Jr. tournaments.  The tennis facility, located on the Sanford Sports Complex campus directly behind The Pentagon, will open its doors in March 2015.

The History of the Huether Family Match Pointe & Fundraising Journey

The construction of a community indoor tennis center has been in the works since 2007.  The project began with seven people and many volunteers who had a grass roots vision to provide our under-served metro area with a tennis facility that would serve the entire community.

A comparison was done with cities similar in size and demographics.  The findings revealed those communities far exceeded our five indoor courts in Sioux Falls.  According to the United States Tennis Association, our thriving community could support at least 15 indoor courts.

  • Sanford Health Systems donated 6 acres of land nestled in Sanford Sports Complex, the city's emerging athletic hub in northwest Sioux Falls
  • Four families and two businesses generously named the six courts that will leave a lasting legacy
  • The City of Sioux Falls earmarked $500,000 in their Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)
  • Over 100 individuals and families stepped-up to donate gifts reaching over $1 million dollars.
  • In 2013, the Chamber of Commerce approved a fundraising drive of $1 million dollars. Individuals and 225 businesses generously donated an estimated $1,225,213 during our campaign.  It exceed our goal by 25%.
  • Remaining funds are still being collected through grants and private donations to the not-for-profit facility
  • After a sizable personal donation by the Huether Family, the Community Indoor Tennis  Center was renamed The Huether Family Match Pointe

The facility will feature:

  • 6 championship tennis courts
  • Studio-quality indirect lighting
  • A classroom for community education
  • A childcare room
  • An elevator for access to and from the mezzanine level
  • Mezzanine viewing for spectators and fans
  • Men’s & Women’s locker room facilities

The Huether Family Match Pointe will bring a better quality of life for Sioux Falls residents and make Sioux Falls an even better place to live. For more information about membership options, pricing, leagues, drills, and adult and jr. programs, please visit
