SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sanford Health is now the official sports medicine provider for the Sioux Falls Storm, winners of 11 indoor football championships.
The Storm are moving their headquarters to the Sanford Sports Complex and will be based in the same building as the Acute Care and Orthopedic Fast Track Clinic and Summit League Office. The team will also practice and do their strength and conditioning with Sanford POWER in the Sanford Fieldhouse.
“Our family is really excited for this opportunity to build a great relationship with Sanford,” said Jason Headlee, president of the Sioux Falls Storm. “This partnership will provide a great benefit to our players and Lightning Squad. This enables us to bring a higher level of competition to the field with a product that our sponsors and fans of Storm Nation will be excited to be a part of.”
“Sanford Health has had a long-standing relationship with Coach Kurtiss Riggs through the Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy, and we’re excited to welcome the Sioux Falls Storm to the Sanford Sports Complex,” said Kevin Lampe, president of Sanford Sports. “Coach Riggs has built a championship foundation and culture with the Storm, and we are committed to helping them continue their winning ways.”
This is the second professional sports team to base its training at the Sanford Sports Complex. The Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League also practices, plays and trains at the complex.
