Katie Bila
Strength & Conditioning CoachKatie (Klapprodt) Bila is a strength and conditioning coach at Sanford Sports in the Black Hills. She is a Rapid City, South Dakota, native and Stevens High School alum, where she now coaches. She earned her master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of North Dakota and was an NCAA Division I women’s basketball student-athlete.
Prior to joining Sanford Sports, Bila developed her skills at premier institutions such as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Georgetown University. She also served professionally as a strength and conditioning coach for the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League where she trained athletes who would compete on the U.S. Women’s National Olympic Team.
Bila believes bringing a passionate, energetic and positive coaching style is important at every level she coaches and pushes her athletes to be 1% better every day.
She focuses on athletic development, injury prevention and performance enhancement. She builds in-depth programs incorporating multi-joint movements, ground-based activities, three-dimensional actions, explosive training, progressive overload, seasonal application, split program, heavy-light system, interval training and correct energy systems.
Bila is excited to give back to a community that gave her so much while she grew up, and she is thankful to be close to friends and family. She looks forward to enjoying everything the Black Hills has to offer with her husband, son and three dogs.
Bila is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She is also an EXOS-certified performance specialist (XPS) and USA Weightlifting sports performance coach (USAW).
