Registration is now open for the annual Sanford POWER Volleyball Academy youth fall league.
Held at the Sanford Pentagon, this league gives athletes the benefit of practices, skills clinics, and weekly matches followed by a year-end tournament. It’s open to players that will be in grade 4-6 in 2019-20.
The Sanford POWER Volleyball Academy is the most comprehensive program in the region, combining skill development with sports performance, sports science and sports medicine elements housed at the Sanford Sports Complex.
Mark McCloskey, academy coordinator and club director, brings over 25 years of experience and a team of advanced professionals, including former University of Washington and Team USA standout Courtney Thompson, to help develop young athletes and help them reach their volleyball goals.
“In this league they will play matches, but the more important part is going to be the skill work they do at practice and the clinics we have throughout the season,” McCloskey said. “Our focus is just as much volleyball as it is the overall athletic movement they develop as kids.”
